A DAY'S WORK

Doorstep Healthcare Services provides mobile healthcare services to patients in assisted living and long-term care settings in the greater Twin Cities metro area.
What does our dental day look like? The DHS dental team, which includes a dentist, a dental assistant and a patient transporter, arrives at the facility at 8 a.m. to begin the day. They work together to unload the mobile dental equipment and set it up in the facility. A chair, instruments and other necessary equipment are installed in a suitable space — the site's beauty parlor often makes a good temporary dental office!
The patient transporter takes the patient list and meets with floor nurses to confirm the schedule for the day. When the patient transporter connects with a patient who is ready to be seen, he escorts the patient down to the treatment room. Patient comfort is a core value of DHS, so the dentist spends time introducing herself and getting to know the patient before beginning the necessary care.
After the treatment, the patient transporter escorts the patient back to her room. Visit notes are provided to the floor nurse to ensure necessary follow-up treatment. At the end of the day, the team loads up their equipment and returns home satisfied that they made a difference in the lives of others!
